Strategic Mischief, LLC, doing business as Text Hollis ("Text Hollis," "Hollis," "we," "us," or "our"), provides a personal AI assistant that helps users communicate, remember information, create and manage reminders and tasks, and interact with supported services such as SMS, email, and calendars (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use Text Hollis, including our website at https://texthollis.com, our applications, SMS program, email features, integrations, and related services.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

Text Hollis is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly offer the Service to, or knowingly collect personal information through the Service from, anyone under 18.

If we learn that we collected personal information from a person under 18 in violation of this policy, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information.

Account and Contact Information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect information such as:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Mobile phone number
  • Account identifiers
  • Login and authentication information
  • Communication preferences
  • Time zone and other settings you choose to provide

Messages, Instructions, and Other Content

Text Hollis is designed to receive information from you so it can assist you. Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect and process:

  • SMS and other text messages you send to or receive from Text Hollis
  • Emails you send to or receive through Text Hollis
  • Tasks, reminders, notes, preferences, and instructions
  • Dates, appointments, names, and other information you ask Text Hollis to remember
  • Files, links, or other content you choose to provide
  • Responses generated by Text Hollis
  • Conversation history and user-specific context needed to provide requested features

Please do not submit information you do not want processed through the Service.

Connected Services

If you choose to connect a third-party account or service, such as a calendar or email provider, we may receive information that you authorize that provider to make available to Text Hollis. This may include calendar events, email content or metadata, account identifiers, contact information, and related data.

The information we receive depends on the permissions you grant. You can revoke permissions or disconnect a connected service through the applicable account settings or provider settings.

Device, Usage, and Technical Information

We may automatically collect information about how the Service is accessed and used, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser and device type
  • Operating system
  • App or browser identifiers
  • Log data
  • Dates and times of access
  • Features used and interactions with the Service
  • Error, crash, and diagnostic information
  • Referral or source information
  • Cookie and similar technology data

Subscription and Billing Information

Text Hollis may be offered through a recurring monthly subscription.

Payments may be processed by a third-party payment processor. We may receive transaction and subscription information such as your subscription status, billing status, billing name, renewal information, and limited payment-related details. We do not necessarily receive or store your full payment card number.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve Text Hollis
  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts
  • Route communications to the correct user account and conversation
  • Process your instructions and generate assistant responses
  • Create, manage, and deliver reminders, tasks, and notifications that you request
  • Send account, service, billing, security, and transactional communications
  • Operate SMS, email, calendar, and other connected features
  • Personalize the Service based on information you provide and your settings
  • Maintain conversation continuity and user-specific context
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and misuse
  • Debug, monitor, and improve reliability and performance
  • Provide customer support
  • Enforce our Terms & Conditions and other policies
  • Comply with applicable law and lawful requests
  • Protect the rights, safety, and security of Text Hollis, our users, and others

We do not use SMS opt-in consent to send third-party marketing messages.

5. AI Processing and Model Training

Text Hollis uses artificial intelligence and large language models to interpret instructions, generate responses, organize information, and provide requested features.

Information you submit may be transmitted to and processed by third-party AI infrastructure providers acting as service providers to Text Hollis. Those providers may process information only as needed to provide the services we use and subject to their applicable contractual and security obligations.

We do not provide your private messages, account data, connected-service content, or other User Content to third-party AI model providers for the purpose of training their general-purpose AI models, and we do not authorize those providers to use your User Content for that purpose.

We may use operational, aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise non-identifying information to understand and improve Text Hollis, provided that such information is handled in accordance with applicable law.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or inappropriate for a particular situation. You should independently verify important information and should not rely on Text Hollis for emergencies or for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We may disclose information to vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, communications delivery, authentication, payment processing, analytics, security, customer support, email delivery, calendar integrations, and AI infrastructure.

These providers may process information only for legitimate service purposes and subject to applicable agreements and law.

At Your Direction

We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, such as when you connect a third-party service, ask Text Hollis to send information to another service, or otherwise authorize a disclosure.

Legal, Safety, and Security Purposes

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or lawful government request
  • Enforce our agreements or policies
  • Detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, security issues, abuse, or illegal activity
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Text Hollis, our users, or others

Business Transfers

If Strategic Mischief, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Aggregated or De-identified Information

We may use or disclose information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you, subject to applicable law.

7. SMS and Mobile Messaging Privacy

Text Hollis offers SMS messaging so registered users can communicate with the assistant and receive reminders, notifications, responses, and other account-related messages they request.

SMS Consent

SMS enrollment is voluntary and separate from acceptance of our general Terms & Conditions where separate consent is required.

Before sending recurring or proactive SMS messages, we obtain the consent required by applicable law, carrier rules, and messaging-provider requirements. We may retain records of SMS consent, including the date, time, method, source, and version of the consent language, as needed to operate the program, document compliance, and honor your preferences.

Mobile Information and SMS Consent

We do not sell or rent your mobile phone number or SMS consent information. We do not use your SMS opt-in information to allow unaffiliated third parties to market their products or services to you.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

Communications providers, telecommunications carriers, and vendors that help us transmit messages may process mobile numbers, message content, routing information, and related technical data solely as necessary to provide messaging services on our behalf.

SMS Message Types

If you opt in, Text Hollis may send messages such as:

  • User-requested reminders
  • Appointment or event reminders
  • Task and follow-up notifications
  • Responses to instructions or questions you send to Text Hollis
  • Account, security, billing, and service-related notices
  • Other informational messages directly related to your use of Text Hollis

We do not enroll you in promotional or marketing SMS campaigns unless we separately obtain any consent required for those messages.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies based on your activity, the reminders and tasks you create, and the communications you request.

Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier and plan.

Opting Out of SMS

You may opt out of Text Hollis SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to the number from which you received a message. You may also use other supported standard opt-out keywords where available.

After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation message.

For U.S. toll-free messaging, re-enrollment after an opt-out may require you to reply START or UNSTOP, subject to carrier and messaging-provider requirements.

Opting out of SMS does not automatically close your Text Hollis account or prevent you from using non-SMS features of the Service.

Reply HELP to a Text Hollis message for assistance, or contact support@texthollis.com.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, maintain security, understand usage, and improve functionality.

You may be able to control some of these technologies through your browser or device settings. Disabling them may affect how some features work.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Maintain user-requested context, tasks, reminders, and account history
  • Process and document subscriptions and payments
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce agreements
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, how you use the Service, your account settings, and applicable legal requirements.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete or de-identify it, subject to technical, legal, security, fraud-prevention, and backup requirements.

10. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Text Hollis account through the in-app account settings.

Account deletion may result in deletion or de-identification of personal information associated with your account, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Deleting your account does not necessarily delete information held independently by third-party services you previously connected to Text Hollis. You may need to manage those services separately.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, devices, email account, and mobile phone number.

12. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:

  • Request access to certain personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of certain information
  • Obtain information about certain disclosures or processing activities
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Appeal certain privacy-rights decisions where applicable

These rights are subject to applicable law and exceptions.

You may separately manage SMS preferences by replying STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.

13. California Privacy Information

Strategic Mischief, LLC is based in California. California residents may have additional privacy rights under applicable California law.

Where a California privacy law applies to Text Hollis and to a particular request, we will honor applicable rights, which may include rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information and rights relating to certain uses or disclosures of personal information.

Text Hollis does not sell mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent, and SMS consent is not transferred to third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

California residents may submit applicable privacy requests to hello@texthollis.com.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may connect to or contain links to third-party services. Those services are governed by their own privacy practices and terms.

When you authorize Text Hollis to interact with a third-party service, information may be exchanged with that service as needed to perform the action you requested.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that are not acting as our service providers.

15. International Data Transfers

If you access Text Hollis from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate mechanisms intended to protect personal information transferred across borders.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, by SMS where appropriate, or by another reasonable method. We will also update the "Last Updated" date above.
